The wine assortment is renewed and adjusted to the season. We aim to provide the best wine experience is Leiden. That is why we offer more then hundred carefully selected wines.

Wessels organises wine tasteries regularly. You can taste several of our delicious wines, and of course you can buy them.. An expert will give information about the wine. The tastery is a very nice way to discover wines and build up more knowledge about it. All will take place at Wessels restaurant, and is matched with beautiful small dishes.

Wessels has 100+ different wines in-house. You can find all the Well known names and grapes on the wine menu, however, the more exotic types are in our famous 'small red booklet'. The assortment may change over time, due to seasonal match ups, storage space or other factors. That is why we won't publish the menu here. We would like to make you aquainted with several beautiful, maybe exotic wines that have proper price quality ratings. We often get the question: "What is the best wine to match this dish?" There is no exclusive answer to that question, in general. Its all about experimentation and, often depends on mood, weather, season, personal taste and of course the particular dish. We aim to give you the best experience you can get. You can choose to drink a glass, a bottle or order a wine arrangement, which includes matching wines on every course. We will advice you, or suprise you. check out our wine tasteries and wine course as well.

Tasting, judging and enjoying wine is the most important goal of the course. we explain topics like: history and production processes, brand developments and legislation. We discuss the most important wine production areas, grape types and relationships to food. Email to wijn@restaurantwessels.nl when you are interested in this course.

Wessels takes care of your business or private party. Besides the culinary issues we can provide decorations and seats etc.

You have a party comming on? Passed an exam, an aniversary, birthday or just out of the blue? You can count on us. The snacks and drinks are perfect, the scenery is warm and cosy.

1. Take the exit 6a direction Leiden-Oost
2. Take the 1st exit right (follow Leiden-Oost)
3. Bit of a turn to the left at Hoge Rijndijk
4. Bit of a turn to the left stay on Hoge Rijndijk
5. Follow the road to Levendaal
6. Take a right turn towards Sint Jorissteeg
7. Follow the road to Hooigracht
8. At the end of Hooigracht go right, onto Langegracht
9. At the end of Langegracht go right, onto Haven
10. The road turns left
11. Wessels is the last building left just before the city gate 'Zijlpoort'

1. Take the exit 8-Leiden towards N206 direction Utrecht
2. Take a left at N206/Plesmanlaan
3. Go on following the Plesmanlaan
4. Take a left onto Schipholweg
5. Go right at the end, onto Willem de Zwijgerlaan
6. take the 3rd exit right, onto the Marnixstraat
7. Take a left at the Maresingel
8. First exit right, onto the Oude Herengracht
9. Take left (actually straight on, as the road turns right) at Haven
10. The road turn a bit left, just follow
11. Wessels is the last building left just before the city gate 'Zijlpoort'

1. Take the main exit from the station, south, onto Stationsweg and Rijnsburgersingel
2. Follow the road to Steenstraat
3. Go left at the square: Beestenmarkt, passing Mac Donalds on your left hand
4. At the road, over the water to the right; Turfmarkt
5. Immediately go left onto Oude Vest
6. Walk on over the Oude Vest until it becomes Havenplein
7. Turn left, over the water and stay on Havenplein
8. Havenplein turn a bit left and becomes Haven
9. Wessels is the last building left just before the city gate 'Zijlpoort'
